Why Doctors DON'T LIKE Health Insurance #shorts #doctor #cashpay #healthcare
"In traditional insurance, providers are price-takers."
Providers, like patients, appreciate knowing the cost of care ahead of time.
As Dean Jargo shares in the clip below, providers want to be paid a fair price for the services they provide; when providers have to negotiate with big insurance carriers, they pretty much have to accept the price offered to them, and are often paid months after the service is provided.
In that traditional insurance model, the patient and employer are often paying much more for care, while the provider often receives less than going through cash pay, which is an obvious misalignment of incentives.
